Jackson State football coach Deion Sanders has pledged a huge chunk of his salary for the program's new facility.

On Monday (July 18), Sanders shared on social media that he would be donating half of his earnings to Jackson State to complete renovations on its football facility in time for the season.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Sanders first weighs donating a quarter of his salary to the facility. Moments later, however, the football coach decides to double his initial consideration alongside business manager Constance Schwartz-Morini.

“I’ll put half on it to get this done,” Sanders said. “If you don’t believe me, check me. I will send you the receipts.”

The four-year deal Sanders signed with Jackson State in 2020 is valued at $300,000 annually.

JSU is aiming to finish construction on the new facility by August 4, which marks a month before the regular season and a day before the scheduled start of football camp, the Mississippi Clarion-Ledge reports.

The renovations include a new state-of-the-art locker room, coach's offices, meeting areas, and players' lounge.
