Salt-N-Pepa's Sandra "Pepa" Denton says she was treated like a criminal and kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight for no apparent reason.

According to TMZ, Denton was booted off a Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Nashville on Monday (July 15).

Denton told the outlet that she had purchased two seats on the flight to give her extra space for her injured knee. The Salt-N-Pepa rapper, who wasn't wearing her protective brace at the time, said a flight attendant accosted her over the extra seat she purchased.

A man later asked Denton for her extra seat, saying he was headed to a funeral. Denton said she didn't believe the man's account because his lip quivered and he refused to confirm he was going to a funeral when asked.

Amid the interaction, a flight attendant allegedly booted Denton off the flight. Denton said she began recording the incident, and cops met her in the terminal to escort her outside.

The artist said she's still unsure why she was kicked off the flight. Passenger Shannon McCormack told TMZ that Denton didn't argue with flight staff until she was taken off the plane.

According to McCormack, a flight attendant got upset after Denton said she was going to record the incident, saying the rapper didn't have "consent" to film.

Southwest Airlines reportedly refunded Pepa $2500 for her two seats. Police got involved in the incident because "once she was refunded, she didn't have a valid ticket, and it's standard for cops to escort unticketed people from the terminal," the airline said, per TMZ.
